Welcome to the official website of the Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Vienna. This website attempts to reflect the Islamic Republic of Iran’s views, position and policies on important areas of interest and concern to the international community in general, and particularly on the Vienna agenda.

This agenda involves the participation of a large number of States and members of the civil society, who, despite their colourful diversity and intriguing differences, each represent a piece of the larger puzzle which is the society in which we live. The dynamic interaction of this diverse group inevitably contributes to not only enriching us all on a cultural level, but more importantly to seeing that the multilateral processes move forward.

Acknowledging the worth and merits of multilateralism, and promoting international cooperation through dialogue constitute an integral part of the Foreign Policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Through its legacy, and the inheritance of its ancient civilization Iran initiated the idea of “Dialogue among Civilisations”, a concept which is ever increasingly becoming recognized throughout the world as a paradigm of interaction among nations and cultures in a world that longs for peace and security.

We welcome your valuable inputs and suggestions which enable us to get to know you and communicate with you in an efficient way.
